How to Become an Advertising Manager
To become an advertising manager, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree. Advertising managers come from many different academic backgrounds, but many employers prefer candidates who have a degree in marketing, advertising, or journalism.
While in college, it can be very useful to take courses in statistics, accounting, finance, and other applied mathematics courses. A strong background in math is needed to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
You will also need work experience before you will be considered for an advertising manager position. Many advertising managers start their careers working in sales, public relations, or marketing.
The experience required for an advertising manager position varies from employer to employer, but a minimum of 3-5 years is often required.
